Meet the Clark Family, Broken Arrow's Christmas Light Installers

We're Jordan and Nicole Clark. Nicole grew up in Broken Arrow, Jordan grew up just up the road in Cleveland, Oklahoma, and after we got married in March 2025, we made Broken Arrow home.

How Black Dog Christmas Lights got started

Last Christmas we lit up our own house. It turned out to be more fun than we expected, and honestly a little magical. Then the neighbors started stopping by. Everybody said it looked great, and almost all of them asked the same question: who did you use?

That's when it clicked. We wanted to give other families that same feeling of pulling into the driveway and seeing the house lit up, without anyone having to spend a cold Saturday on a ladder.

Why Broken Arrow?

Nicole graduated from BA schools, and our kid is in Broken Arrow schools now. On fall weekends you'll find us at a football game or in front of the NFL, keeping an eye on the family league we started with our friends, family and neighbors. Our faith is a big part of our family and the way we run this business, and you'll find us at Life.Church on Sundays. When you hire us, you're hiring the family down the street, and we take that seriously.

Giving back at Christmas

Every year our family shops for kids on the Salvation Army Angel Tree. It's one of our favorite parts of the season, and now our customers get to be part of it too. For every home we light, we put $10 toward our Angel Tree shopping, so your lights help another kid have a better Christmas morning.

Who will be on my roof?

We will. Our family hangs every light on every house ourselves, and it's the same family coming back every year. You won't get a different crew each season or someone you've never met knocking on your door.

Jordan has worked in construction for about five years and has OSHA 30 training, the same safety course required for people who run construction job sites. That training comes with him to every install. He knows how to work safely at height, how to protect shingles and gutters, and how to leave a roof exactly the way he found it.

Why is it called Black Dog?

The name comes from our two black labs, Pepper and Banjo. A good bird dog is the one you can count on. It shows up ready to work, pays attention, stays loyal to its people and takes pride in doing the job right. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every house we light.

Pepper and Banjo don't climb ladders, but they take supervising seriously. And our dachshund, Poppy, is pretty sure the whole operation answers to her.

What we promise every customer

We'd rather make a few promises and keep them than make a dozen and hope for the best. You'll get a free design of your house within one business day, before you've paid anything. If a light goes out, text us a photo and we'll have it back on by the next evening. Every house comes down by January 15 on a day you choose. We never use nails or staples. Returning customers pay less every year, because their lights are already cut to fit. And we're fully insured, with an OSHA 30 trained lead on every job.

Is Black Dog Christmas Lights locally owned?

Yes. Black Dog Christmas Lights is owned and run by the Clark family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We aren't a franchise or a national chain, and nobody answers your texts from a call center. It's part of Black Dog Companies, our family's home services business, and Christmas lights are where it all starts.
